At a recent SCRC meeting, we discussed HB270, the bill to correct the lack of County Commission districts in Strafford County. And a later there was a follow-up discussion where it was revealed that the House committee voted to retain the bill, thus kicking the can down the road until next year.

Well… thanks to our very own, Senator James Gray, we have an earlier opportunity for this bill to pass!

There is an amendment to a House bill (HB75) which replaces the text of HB75 with the text of HB270. And there is a hearing Tuesday morning to discuss this amendment.

If you can make it to Concord to sign in, indicating support for this amendment, or testifying in support of it, you could help improve the chances of the amendment being adopted, and HB75 passing the Senate, as-amended.

The amendment number is “2023-1552S”, the text of which is available here:

If you can be there in person, here are the details:

Committee: Senate Election Law and Municipal Affairs
When: 05/02/2023 10:31 AM
Where: Legislative Office Building, Room 103
33 North State Street
Concord, NH 03301
